Sabudana Vada

Recipe: Sabudana Vada

Summary: A scrumptious snack, which is usually had during fasting if the onions are skipped from the ingredients.

IngredientsSabudana Vada1

  • Sabudana/ Sago/ Tapioca pearls/ Sabunnari…. 3 cups .
  • Potato…. 2 nos
  • Onion (optional) …. ½ nos (chopped)
  • Green chili… 3 (chopped into small pieces)
  • Cumin Seeds …. 1 tspn
  • Powdered Peanuts….. 1 cup
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt to taste
  • Water

Instructions

  1. Soak sabudana for at least 4 hours.
  2. Boil the potatoes well. Once it cools down mash it well.
  3. Now take the soaked sabudana and add the mashed potatoes, green chilies, onions, cumin seeds, powdered peanuts and salt and mix it well.Form a thick paste.
  4. Make small balls of equal size. Flatten the balls in the form of patties as shown.
  5. Now heat oil in a fry pan and shallow fry the vadas.  Let it turn golden brown in color.
  6. Once it is ready, serve hot with coconut chutney or tomato ketchup.
