Tomato Rice

Recipe: Tomato Rice

Summary: Easy Tomato Rice, so no hassle of making another curry for your rice.

IngredientsTomato Rice

  • Cooked Rice – 2 cups
  • Red Onions (small cut)- 1nos
  • Green Chillies (thin cut) – 3nos
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  • Mustard Seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • Black Gram/Urad Dal/Uzhunnu parippu – 1 tsp
  • Red Chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder – a pinch
  • Tomatoes (Small cut)- 2 nos
  • coriander Leaves – for garnishing
  • Oil for sauteing
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Take the oil in a pan, and heat it
  2. Once the oil is hot enough, put the black gram/Urad Dal, mustard seeds, chilli powder, and cumin seeds, and fry them.
  3. Then put the onions, and green chillies, and saute the mixture til the onions are near transparent.
  4. Put the turmeric powder, and tomatoes into the mixture, and stir it.
  5. Put salt, and then add the rice and mix it good.
  6. Keep the mixture on low flame for 2 mins.
  7. Once done, garnish the tomato rice with coriander leaves.
